the new story of villa BELLEVUE
We decided to save the Bellevue villa in Ledce u Slaného.
Just a few meters away is our small farm, where we have been taking care of animals for 10 years.
and the plants are cared for by our employees with disabilities.
The condition of the villa kept us up for a long time, until after several years of hard negotiations we managed to buy the villa from the Regional Authority of the Central Bohemian Region. And its new story began to be written.

What are we planning?
We have committed to building a house in
5 years of sheltered housing for people with disabilities. We would like to create an ecological education center and training rooms for children and adults visiting our farm. Other ideas are still maturing - but we have a clear direction.
It is important to mention that we will preserve the unique external appearance of the villa, which concerns the color of the facade and its structure, the number of windows, the shape of the roof, and even the materials used.
How can you help?
The estimated cost of the reconstruction of the building is around 100 million crowns. We are therefore looking for co-financing opportunities.

How did time go?
The first mention of the village of Ledce u Slaného dates back to
from around 1400. Since the beginning of the 16th century, Ledce has belonged to the Martinic family. In the second half of the 18th century, the Count named
from Martinice a nearby settlement - Šternberk - in honor of his wife, née Šternberková. At the same time, he had a chateau built there. At the beginning of the 19th century, a spa was established in Šternberk and the chateau served as one of the buildings of the spa complex. At the end of the 19th century, the spa ceased to exist and its buildings were gradually used as a Correctional Institution for Morally Defective Youth, a Home for the Elderly, a Social Care Institute or a Children's Home.

In addition to building sheltered housing, we want to further develop the farm that we have been operating in Ledce according to the principles of social agriculture for more than 10 years. Owning the building will help us ensure that the farm employees will have, for example, a functional bathroom and toilet - so far they have only used portable toilets.
We organize educational programs for schools and kindergartens on the farm. The creation of an ecological center in Villa Bellevue will allow us to further develop this program.
